You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

...yes Twitter is evil. Actually the Blog makes some very good points about attention and overload which i see a lot of people (including my self) suffering from at times, Twitter seems to be the latest but prob most invasive version.

That said i doubt anyone will read this since they're all off Twittering and not on LJ :-P

It's one of the most astounding pieces of computing I've seen in a long time. I think that some of the filtering stratiges are edging up to AI concepts and could be nicely applied to create AI casification systems..... recursive passes over objects and subobjects..... but thats another topic...

There are apparently over 13,000 in the USA, a country geographically not much bigger that Australia.... it's interesting that you can see a couple of the major highways lit up like christmas lights, or terrifying depending on your point of view

This is scary AWESOMNESS .

Electric cars are too quiet so in Japan they will be equiping cars with sound systems to warn ped... with sounds based on flying cars from Blade Runner!

When you can already buy these umbrellas it just needs to be 3am and raining and we're almost there.

Sep. 20th, 2009 @ 02:33 pm I have mentioned I rock haven't I?
An almost disasterous morning ended in an awesome day! Woke up and after some very plesant pre-getting out of bed activities we got ready and tore over to Ringwood for a 9:00 start.

...unfortunately I miss read the registration time and the bowin started early so we got there just as things started. I got called up because I forgot to sign the registration forms and needed to find where every thing was.

9:00 8-9 Years 7-8th kyu ..... crap... rush the girls over to the ring

Jmonkey was up first and we had been there barely 5 mins....

and she rocked! did a good strong Kata Saifa, bowed in and out correctly and got an awesome score.

Meglet did her's. It was much more fluid than J, but not quite as strong again with a great score.

J came second and meglet missed out on Third by 0.1 points. but I'm so proud of both of them given it was the first serious torunement for either of them.

I was up at 11:30 so had some time to relax and warm up. A few of the people I expected to be competing against had moved up to the Instructor division so I had no idea what to expect.

I was up second for Kata, it was one of the best Saifa I have done in Comp. There was a good spread of skills but I was supprised at my score. As it turned out I tied for second and had to do a Kata-off. My second time I was totally unprepared to have to do it and had already started to get into the Kumite mindset.

The Kumite was awesome, the first round was easy i won 3.0 to 1 the second was a bit of a battle but i got through. Into the finals and was up against another Green Belt, he was really good.

The result, Third in Kata and Second in Kumite at the State Titles..... I'm pretty impressed with my self right now. :-)

....and right now I realise that both me and J have qualified for the nationals in NSW, so I need to see if i can get there and have time off work......

Sep. 19th, 2009 @ 04:20 pm State titles tomorrow...
Off to the Victorian GKR State Titles tomorrow, I'm competing as are the girls. They're both doing Kata (Safia) and I think that they will do ok in their age group. I'm doing kumti and Kata again, I've started learning the next Kata up but still don't know it enough to use so it's Safia again.

Should be a good day, it's over in Ringwood where the first comp I was in is so familiar teritory. I'm hoping to get through at least the first round of kumite but it will be largely the luck of the draw as to who I get. Colin who is one of the Sensi on sunday got knocked out in the first round at the world cup because he came up against the eventual winner in the first round... so who knows what will happen.

Sep. 18th, 2009 @ 08:10 pm busy week
yep as usual.... i was on antibiotics to FINALLY get over the cold I've had for several weeks. and I'm feeling a bit better for it. That said it's been a not so fun week, lots of wrok stuff going on. been far too tired, and not looking forward to next week where I'm in the office by my self. There has been a level of stupidity with people not communicating about issues for an extended period then expecting a quick resolution. This has been slightly been exhaserbated by half of the Department being on leave.

At least i've got the office to my self for two weeks or so. I'm hoping to get a bunch done at least.....
